Is PropHive free to use?+−
Creating a listing or profile, searching and messaging are free. Any optional paid extras, such as promoted listings, are clearly marked.
Can I rent an apartment or house, not only a room?+−
Yes. Search rooms, apartments and houses, or switch to roommates if you want to share.
Which areas do you cover?+−
We are starting with Gauteng, the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal. Type any suburb, neighbourhood or city into the search box.
How do I get alerts for new listings?+−
Run a search, choose Get alerts, and enter your email. We'll send you new matches instantly, daily or weekly, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
How do I know a listing is genuine?+−
Members confirm their email address and mobile number, and listings pass security checks. Look for the Verified badge (email and mobile number confirmed), view the place in person, and never pay a deposit before you have seen it.
Do I need a written agreement?+−
A written agreement helps everyone agree on rent, bills and house rules from day one. We offer a free template you can edit.
